Archimedes principle

A piece of metal of unknown volume is immersed in water by means of a thread.Before lowering into water,the tension in the thread is 10N.the tension in the thread when the piece is immersed in water is 8N.Find the density of the metal

This sounds like a GCSE physics question, but I can't really remember any of the stuff to do with that, sorry.

But won't there be some worked examples of the method in your textbook that you can just use to work out the answer to this one? If not then probably someone who knows about physics will post the answer in the comments for you!
