Are goldfish safe in a garden pond?
Question asked by: mrquestion

It depends what wildlife there are in the area around the pond, and the creatures that come into your garden.
There are lots of predators that could want to eat your little fishies, and these include large birds flying over such as herons that like to eat a little fish supper from ponds from time to time.
Other bad guys when it comes to eating the fish are things like cats which can claw them out quite effectively and eat them. Therefore it is best to keep your pond protected if these or other animals that are known to eat fish are lurking around the pond and have access to it.
