Are other animals self aware?
Question asked by: mrquestion

This is an interesting question.
There has been quite a lot of research done on other animals in recent years.
It seems like there are quite a few creatures that do realise that they exist, as it were, based on the test where they are shown a mirror image. If the creature knows that it is them then they are said to be self aware to at least some extent... primates pass this test as do some intelligent birds and some other creatures too.
