Are photographer rich?

Like anything in life, it depends on the photographers.
There are thousands of people in many countries who take photos for a living, not just paparazzi but mainly photographer for books, magazines, newspapers and companies that take and sell stock photography for many uses.
However there are many, many more who do it as a hobby and make a small income on the side.
If you want to do the latter there are many websites that you can upload your photos to that will sell them, and when someone downloads your photo you get a percentage of the money. Some people who upload loads of photos to those sites can make a nice modest monthly income if their work is good quality and they index it well so that it comes up in the appropriate shots.
