Are time travel paradoxes proof it could not exist?
Question asked by: mrquestion

Time travel paradoxes are not proof that time travel could not exist, but they do strongly suggest that time travel cases in which a paradox could arise are banned.
Therefore if you could go back in time and take out one of your parents, in the classic time travel paradox, then there would be an inconsistency, and therefore if time travel is possible there must be something lurking in the laws of spacetime that don't allow you to perform actions that would result in paradox.
