Atoms

atoms are composed of?
Question asked by: jelly222

Asked on: 05 Jan 2010

Atoms are composed of sub-atomic particles.

The most well known of these are electrons, protons and in all cases apart from standard hydrogen, neutrons.

Of these particles it is believe that electrons are basic although recent research suggests there could be more to electrons than meets the eye.

In terms of protons and neutrons these are composed of three quarks, which themselves come in different sorts, usually called flavours, of which there are six, up,down, strange, charm, top, bottom.
