Can a bad massage have damaging effects?

There is always a risk that a bad massage could cause problems.
For instance applying considerable pressure to the wrong part of the body or at the wrong angle and so on could cause strains, sprains and even worse.
Therefore when receiving a massage make sure it is from someone who knows what they are doing. In general nothing too bad will happen from a bad massage but no benefit and you won't enjoy it, but there certainly could be times where it actively hurts or is painful and causes damage.
