Can a model be too thin?

I think that they just pay token homage to the idea that you shouldn't be anorexic - really all models are still very thin aren't they, and I can't see that changing.
Designers like to use as little material as they can and not have to worry about things like curves on the models, therefore I imagine models will continue to be thin for a long time to come.
