Cleaning Brushed Stainless Steel

I cleaned my new built in brushed stainless steel oven door with MAAS metal cleaner. Had I taken time to read the back I would have seen that I wasn't supposed to use MAAS on brushed stainless steel. My cleaning cloth turned black. Have I ruined it? Can mineral oil or lemon oil be used on it? Please help!

Did the stainless steel product come with cleaning instructions? Most of them do these days and give a list of recommended products (though often these are the manufacturers own surprise surprise!) but at least it guarantees no damage.
