Cleaning mud off a polyester p.e kit.

I have tried to wash mud off my sons p.e. kit which is made of 50% polyester and 50% cool plus. I have it in a bowl of cold water with soda crystals and its still hasnt come out. I dont want to wash it in the machine yet as it will set the stain. Can you help please?

Can you try scraping it off very gently, so as not to affect the fabric itself? If it is loose on then it is possible that you might be able to ease out the granuals gently.
