Describe the six type of element?

Question asked by: stephy

There are only three types of elements:

There are metals, such as zinc and lithium. Metals tend to be shiny, solid at room temperature and malleable, ductile.

Non-metals are another major class, they are often gaseous at room temperature, bond covalently rather than ionically, and do not possess the distinctive physical properties of metals

Finally there are semi-metals, that are non metals but they have some properties in common with metals. Examples of this sort of thing are silicon.
