Details about the moon
Question asked by: atika khan

This is due to the way that rays of light are bent in the earths atmosphere.
A lensing effect happens and makes the light appear larger, just like when you look through something like a liquid the actual size/shape of objects are distorted.
Similarly this sort of thing happens when you peer through the atmosphere of a planet and when rays hit it at certain angles.
