Do I exist?
Question asked by: knowitall

According to Descartes, ' I think therefore I am'.
Unfortunately for Descartes, the premise here does not logically entail the conclusion, though to all intents and purposes it is a safe bet.
You might get away with a watered down version, roughly perhaps that something is thinking at the moment therefore something exists.
Or 'there is some process going on at present, therefore it is not the case that nothing exists'
But as for your own existence - it's useful to assume but can't be proved absolutely beyond doubt. Sorry.
