Do you exist?
Question asked by: knowitall

Who knows!
The truth is that some people claim to genuinely hold the view that only they exist and that everyone else is a projection or figment of their imagination.
It is not very easy to live this way but the idea is called solipsism and can be a legitimate philosophical view.
It has the advantage of elevating you to god status within your own mini existence and perhaps also makes you infallible.
However the figments will have a tendency not to be too pleased with you and depending how you act might suspect you are mad and therefore incarcarate you.
If two solipsists go into a bar what happens? Confusion.

Of course we exist. We're just not sure why or for what purpose.
Although you cannot be sure - I could be imagining this - but as humans created the idea of imagination I doubt this.
