Does hair replacement work?

According to the TV adverts then hair replacement for men does work. I don't know if you can get it for women too, not seen that, but presumably that is something that you can get for women too!
Hair replacement can work by putting real hair and implanting it into the head, there are also various potions and lotions that claim to induce better growth again, not sure if these actually work but the hair transplant would.
