Does having a perm or style hurt hair?
Asked on: 26 Aug 2009

Anything that makes your hair act different to how it is naturally in some sense could harm the hair, simply because it is being made to do what it would not do naturally.
However there is no reason why styling your hair should harm it as long as you do not use too many chemicals in the process or style it too extremely. Obviously if you rip out half your hair in the process of styling it to take an extreme example then you are harming it, or if you have it tied extremely tightly such that there is tension in the hair then again this can cause damage.
