Does hot air hurt my air?

Asked on: 26 Aug 2009

If you have lots of hot air from the hair dryer then eventually yes it can damage the proteins that are in the hair by overheating them.

If you have ever smelt burning hair then you will know that the smell is disgusting, like sometimes if when you are cooking and a hair happens to fall out over the gas and gets frazzled it is not pleasant.

So too much heat can certainly damage hair, therefore just use the hair dryer for as long as necessary to dry the hair then switch to cool or off completely.
