what happens to the energy stored in a capictor when a conducting plate is placed in between the plates of a parallel plate capictor?

I don't know what the answer is but if I had to guess I would say that the charge in it would be discharged.

Not sure if that is the right answer or not but if you have a textbook that might tell you the right answer.
