Equations

What is a simplified form of the expression 2x-3-5x+1
Question asked by: jaymee

Asked on: 17 Jan 2010

If you want to simplify an algebraic expression such as 2x-3-5x+1 then you need to pair up the like terms.

In other words here you either have integers, or multiples of 'x'. Therefore you need to combine these.

So, this will give you -3x -2 as the simplified form.
