If three fifths are boys and there are 240 girls, then this means that two fifths of the pupils are girls.

Therefore 2/5 x pupils = 240

So the question is,

3/5 x pupils = ???

Well, (240 / 2) x 3 is straightforwardly the answer, to give 360. So the answer is 360.
