3/5 is boys and there are 240 girls.

This means that 2/5 of them are girls.

So 40% is 240.
So 60% is 360.

So there are 360 boys.

3/5 are boys , so the remaining 2/5 are girls Let X be the total number of students. That means 2/5 of X = 240 (2/5)x X = 240 X = 240 x 5/2 = 600 3/5 of X are boys. So (3/5) X 600 = 360 boys
