Genetic engineering

explain what is meant by te following terms in relation to forming a genetically modified bacterium containing the gene for human insulin: isolation
Question asked by: tasheyxxx

Asked on: 24 Apr 2008

Isolation is literally that - where you isolate, or keep separate, a particular gene.

For instance if you isolate the gene that causes behaviour x or disease y to occur, then you can modify the behaviour by removing that gene or perhaps by replacing it with something else instead.
