How can I encourage frogs and newts in the pond?

Question asked by: mrquestion

To encourage frogs and newts in your pond then the key thing is for them to be able to get in and out of the pond easily, so provide plenty of access points for them to get in and out.

Also remember that if you have some wildplants these can make a nice habitat and offer some cover for them in the water so they are not fully exposed, this is also good.

A little shaded area perhaps where they can hide under like some slabs are also quite popular and frogs will like to hide under these in the summer. Also of course a healthy pond is the most important of all so ensure it is well oxygenated.
