How can I get funding for a business?

Business funding is tricky.
If there are private investors - friends and family - willing to back you then this can be the best way to get money.
If not then there are bank loans and may be various other schemes to support you if you fit certain criterion.
Speak to your local business advisor who should be able to point you in the best direction though if left down to the bank ensure that you dress in a professional manner and take your business plan with you.
