How can I get less shy around people I like?

If you are naturally shy it can be very hard to change from that.
The answer is hard - there is no quick fix, you just have to make yourself be more social as it were.
To do this you will have to start to get out and about more, challenge yourself to say hello and be friendly to those you wouldn't normally.
It takes hard work to change behaviours and can be particularly tricky at first; but really that's all you can do.
