How can I get my caps lock beep back?

Somehow I have lost the sound my keyboard produces when the caps lock is operated. I can't touch type, and I can't hear if I hit it by accident, so I have to go back and retype everything in the correct case. It's driving me bananas, especially as all my other sounds are present and correct. Can anybody help me?

Which operating system are you using?

It would be worth looking under the accessibility settings which on most computers is where you can find the configuration for beeps.
