How can I get on a graduate scheme for a company?

Graduate schemes are great as you often get quick exposure to the innards of an organisation and high profile projects to work on and are often earmarked for fast promotion so you may be able to jump up the corporate ladder quicker.

These jobs often start with higher salaries than normal entry level jobs in a company and therefore they are very popular so competition is stiff.

In order to secure one these days many suggest the best way is to do an internship the year before you graduate, which may be unpaid, but if so then view it as an investment. If you do well then you will have a great chance of being invited to interview the following year.

If you don't go through an internship then look for a graduate scheme with an employer and then apply and be sure to contact them to show your interest and if you get an interview then prepare as well as you can and good luck!
