How can i get started in the film business and hopefully star in one?
Question asked by: knowitall
The film business is notoriously hard to get into.
It is a good idea to start off by being an extra, and whilst doing extra work always volunteer for any spoken lines - sometimes they need someone just to do a line or two and often turn to an extra for this.
After lots of extra work you will get a good feel for what is required, may get some spoken lines and can therefore say that you have experience.
Go to a good theatre or acting or drama school and see if you can get some breaks that way.
Actively use your contacts and networks to set up meetings and be persistent in going for castings. Take on board any feedback that you get given - this is a great way to find out where you are going wrong and what to do better next time.
With enough persistence you should eventually get that break you are after!
