The best way is to start incorporating exercise into what you do.
This doesn't have to be formal stuff like going down the gym - simply doing things like washing up, hoovering, cleaning and more active things to help around the home all count as exercise.
If you want to do 'formal' exercise then consider taking up a sport - something like tennis, squash and similar are good things that you can do with others to help stay in shape or to get in shape, or jogging.
If you want to do exercise at home then you can get things like exercise bikes cheaply these days that take up little space and are effective at cardiovascular exercise.
Combine that extra exercise with a healthy and moderate diet and it is possible to lose weight steadily and get the shape you want.
