How can I pick a good password?

Picking a good password is something of an artform that in the past we never needed but now with more and more online sites and passwords and accounts it is a useful skill to have.

Picking a password means we need one that is both secure and ideally easy to remember.

Most recommend not using a word from the dictionary as these are easiest to crack.

Therefore instead you should consider having something like a random mix of letters and numbers of between 8 - 10 characters long as these are the hardest to crack.

In terms of making it memorable there are some strategies out there discussed in other question and answers in this section.
