How can I relax when I can't get to sleep?

When you can't get to sleep then it can be very frustrating, particularly if you need to be up in the morning for work or some other commitment and therefore can't simply lie in for an extra hour.
If you can't sleep then you might start to get anxious and start clock watching and thinking about the fact you can't sleep, this in turn makes it harder to sleep and it is one of those annoying vicious circles that crop up from time to time.
What you need to do above all is to STAY CALM and try to banish any thoughts from your mind and keep your brain clear of thoughts. Try changing position to a comfier one. But above all just try and stay relaxed by not worrying about it.
