How can we stop arguing?

Question asked by: knowitall

If you are arguing in a relationship then there can of course be many causes.

Often they are quite petty but they can be more deep seated.

Therefore the first step is to personally work out what is making you argue. Is it that you are both busy, or a clash of personalities, or that you hold fundamentally different values?

Recognising what the issue is will enable you better to work out how to resolve the conflict.

Armed with this, sit your partner down quietly and calmly when you are alone and have time to discuss it without pressure.

Hopefully you will be able to find a way forward - if things get too bad then sadly you will have to quit your losses and give up on the relationship if it is beyond the point of no repair.
