How did animation used to work?
Question asked by: mrquestion

Before computers came along this used to be a really hard process, as everything had to be drawn frame by frame.
Therefore it could take days just to get a few seconds of cartoon in some cases as each one was sketched on top of the other, changing a tiny little thing each time so that when they run quickly together the illusion of movement is there.
Despite this many have had the talent and the patience over the years to do animation in this way; now sophisticated computer technology is used to make animation easier as computers can morph between a start and end state and therefore remove some of the hassle although it is still a slow process!
