How did Kate Moss get into modelling?

I do not know specifically but I do have a vague memory of reading somewhere that she was one of those people who was scouted, which is the sort of thing that does actually happen to some lucky people.
What is interesting is that she is shorter than most models but has managed to have a great career in modelling anyhow.
Sometimes models just have the look that they are looking for and that is concerned commercial and that can lead to lots of work no matter what height you are.
