How did life change for civilians during world war 2?

Question asked by: knowitall

The impact is too wide to mention here in a brief answer. However the key was that the freedom enjoyed under normal circumstances was just not there, nor was the guarantee of safety.

Of course as well as anxiety, there were problems with food and shortages and hence rationing came in and everything was ticketed.

This was one of the biggest changes. Of course there was also great loss and sadness as family after family was involved in their own personal tragedies.

For more information you should really read a book on the impact of a war as a full account would extend for several pages!
