How do I deter Deer from entering my garden and eating the plants?

Question asked by: knowitall

This can be quite tricky, as you mention using a fence is the obvious answer but this is often impractical.

Some people report that scarecrows or hanging shiny discs like CDs can scare off the deer as they are quite shy, so this might be worth a go.

You could also try ultrasonic sounders that scare off quite a few smaller animals, though I'm not sure if this will work with deer or not!
