How do I get listed in a search engine?

If you want to get listed in a search engine then there are two ways of doing this.
The first is to actually submit your site to those search engines saying that it exists and you want it to get indexed, most search engines have a free form that you fill in with the web address and it adds it to the queue of sites for indexing.
The second method is to try and get links in from other websites and through this method then the search engines will gradually find your site automatically over time; this is the best way of building up a good profile for your website in the longer term.
