How do i get rid of ivy it is growing up my fences i would like to get rid of it for good?
Question asked by: knowitall
Ivy can be a real pain - once it takes hold somewhere it can grow like a weed. For many people it looks unsightly, but more than this it can also cause some structural damage over time.
Here's how to get rid of ivy - it does take some time because ivy is notoriously resistant to herbicides due to its resistance to such toxins.
Therefore you will need to try remove all the shoots from your fence using good old fashioned hard work, and then the key is the try to attack the roots.
Chop them down as far as you possibly can, and even try to pull out the root system of the plant as much as you can.
Once at that stage, use a herbicide on what is left of the roots to try to kill off the plant.
