How do I tell my x that I still like him?

This is an interesting one!
Before you do anything, are you sure that you are still interested? Or is it just that you are lonely and/or that no-one else has come along so you want to settle for that comfortable old pair of slippers?
Basically going back never works, so the answer is don't tell him - see if the feeling passes and move on!
