Dollar spot tends to hit turf that is either poorly fertilized or specifically low in nitrogen.
To get rid of it, you need to ensure that you have the area well watered and well drained. You also need to ensure that you have it well fertilized.
However the main thing you need is a liquid fungicide bought from your local garden centre - they can recommend the best one for dollar spot. This will be the main thing you use to fight the fungus that causes dollar spot.
