How do tortoise breath under water

Question asked by: v9d baror

Asked on: 17 Feb 2010

I think they breathe before they go into the water and then hold their breath.

Though I think I read somewhere that they can also absorb oxygen through their skin in some species though whether that is quite true or not I wouldn't like to say for sure!
