How do you deadhead wilted flowers from a Bird of Paradise Plant. I have been told to remove them from the bottom but is this right as each flower seems to have a leaf attached?
Question asked by: knowitall

Deadhead as normal - when the flower is dying and drying up remove.
This will encourage prolonged and more frequent flowering and also save some goodness for the plant which will otherwise use up its resources to produce seeds for the next generation.
Deadhead carefully and at the base of the flower.
