How do you get work in photography?

If you want to work in photography, then you need to ensure that you have a good portfolio of your work first, as most places will ask for evidence that you are able to take decent quality photographs already and that you have a good eye.
You could apply to various companies that need portrait photographers, for instance, or do freelance work and submit to the likes of newspapers and so forth and try to get work that way.
