How do you solve a cryptic crossword?

With difficulty in many cases!
If you want to solve a cryptic clue then you need to try to break it down and analyse the various parts of it.
Generally there will be one part of the clue that is 'straight' or gives the answer; this is often just one or two words.
Remember that anagrams, either full or partial, are very common when it comes to cryptic clues so look for words that might tell you that there is an anagram there, like disturbed or shuffled etc
