How do you test for starch?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 04 Jan 2010

The standard test for starch in biology and so on is to use an iodine solution.

You add a drop of this to what you are trying to test, and if it turns a dark blue colour then this shows that there is starch present.
