How much was Jonathan Ross paid by the BBC?
Question asked by: mrquestion

Jonathan Ross was reported to be paid £6m a year - that was the figure always quoted.
However what was quite amusing is that the BBC always said this was an "alleged" or a "reported" salary, as if it didn't know (it was the BBC that was paying him). A bit like a company "alleging" what it pays its staff - a little bit odd really.
For some reason it doesn't have to disclose what it pays despite the freedom of information act supposedly being all-pervading these days, but the major issue is of course that the citizens of Great Britain are what pay all their salaries so surely we are entitled to know!?
