How old is the universe?
Question asked by: knowitall
The universe refers to all of space and its contents (though recently there have been arguments our universe is one in a series of perhaps infinite universes, forming collectively the multi-verse).
Our universe is thought to be between 10 - 20 billion years old (e.g. perhaps only twice as old as earth), and is mostly empty space with occasional clumps of matter - galaxies.
