I have no advanced knowledge of physics or math, but it does seem to me that there are repeated patterns in the universe and I wonder if "the big crunch" and what happens in a black hole may be versions of the same pattern?

Question asked by: knowitall

This is an interesting thought, however there need be no direct relation at all between there being repeated patterns and any similarity between black holes and a big crunch process.

In a universe that is governed by orderly laws as ours seems to be then you would expect there to be lots of repetition as processes are governed by the same laws and therefore the same result occurs over and over again.
