I want my child to be a model. Do they need a portfolio?
Question asked by: knowitall
If your child is around the age of 5 or under then no, they shouldn't be asked for a portfolio.
Some simple shots should do the trick.
After that age you may like to get a small selection of photos done, keep them basic and don't try anything too arty or flash.
The main point to stress is that child modelling can be traumatic for children if they get work and you should examine very carefully why you want your child to be a model.
If it is to fulfil some inner need or dream of your own through them then you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Always think carefully before putting your child through an experience like this and in most cases child modelling will be the wrong option for your child if not you.
