Here is a great way to answer questions like this.
At night go to the globe in your house - or your friends if you don't have one - and shine a torch at the globe to recreate whatever state you want.
By seeing where the shadows and lights fall you will be able to answer this and any other question with ease. Remember the earth is a globe and you can recreate it like that.
